So food is interesting. Always will be.
One of the ideas I had for an article is choosing a single food item (spice, liquid, etc are included), dissecting it, and making it interesting.
I would do this by breaking up the topic into 4 catagories:
History
Benefits
Fun Fact
Recipe
These would all be very short (and include a picture)
I think I'll start working on a few.

Beginnings
So I'm starting this as an experiment. I want to see if I can find the little embers of Downtown Vancouver that will rise to great flames. Vancouver has so much to offer, so many neat little things going on that are just the beginnings. Here I'll working on molding an informational tool that will hopefully be used in our local paper, the Vancouver Voice. Right now, it's not that good of a read BUT there IS potential. Great potential. I'd like to be a part of that by informing locals, travelers, readers everywhere, of the great little gems on our side of the river.
Burnt Umbrella is a name I came up with well...because it's sort of edgy and it involves 1. umbrellas...and if you know where Vancouver is, I don't have to answer that. 2. Vancouver's been up and down throughout it's history but through run down neighborhoods, creativity begins to regrow. The fire is heating up.
